Lil Wayne + Juelz Santana - Black Republicans

Lil Wayne & Juelz Santana - Black Republicans (Hov Dis?)
I could think of 9 million reasons not to post this, but it’s worth listening to. If only to remind us that this ‘couple’ can’t hold a torch to Jay-Z on his worst day.

i can’t stand when they compare themselves to sonny carson. what do they know about sonny? that his name rhymes with money?

dronkmunk Says:
You’re right, these guys can’t hold a candle. But I must admit, I wasn’t expecting something quite this corny.
|

ian Says:
Rizoh, I couldn’t disagree with you and everyone else dissing this track here more. Both Juelz and Wayne sound real solid and this is def. killing Jay on his worst day (aka Kingdom Come) rhyme-wise, no question. You don’t have to say these are the hottest rhymes ever cos a few of Juelz rhymes are kind of cheese-wiz but to dismiss this as straight garbage can be seen as nothing but posturing and an ideological statement.
|
| 12. |
Rizoh Says:
Ian, nothing strikes me on this freestyle. The corny metaphors, the thin-veiled disses…nothing. It’s not even defensible. Sure, Wayne and Santana both exhume flahes of brilliance at times, but jocking jay’s nuts as a gimmick is played out.

Rizoh Says:
So…let me get this straight: because Wayne’s last album was solid, we should applaud everything else he’s recorded–good or bad?

Layla the Solqueen Says:
little wayne is a tad bit gay to me.

Q Slash Says:
“fuc a bum rapper make his whole career outta dissin”
|

Illmatic620 Says:
Meh.. I appreciate Juelz pro-dem, pro-obama sentiment but the shit went down hill after that.
And Lil Wayne dropped average shit period.. Jeezy > him IMO which doesnt say much, TI > them both and Luda > TI
|
| 24. |
Dip Dip Dip Says:
@Q Slash: you butchered that line. you said it all wrong.
|

Rizoh Says:
Meh.. I appreciate Juelz pro-dem, pro-obama sentiment but the shit went down hill after that.
———
you mean the “young Barakka Obama” line, right?
|
| 26. |
Illmatic620 Says:
Yeah Juelz actual isn’t terrible, hes good on his good days.. on his bad days..
|
| 27. |
Rizoh Says:
Ill, you missed the whole point.
“young Barakka Obama”
|
| 28. |
Illmatic620 Says:
I noticed that when I was to it the first time lol I ignored it. It made me strach my head though, like I said I like the sentiment though lol
|
| 29. |
esbee Says:
From an emcee standpoint Wayne sounded relaxed and unconcerned he was actually spitting.
Juelz on the other hand said (at least for now) 2007’s WTH punchline..
“fly like an ostrich?” - and this is supposed to be the future of hip hop? LOL
The freestyle isn’t even necessary and only ardent fans of both upstarts will latch on and claim this stuff is great. Which is why hip hop they say is ‘dead’ ppl just can’t be objective anymore and say what’s wack is wack.
|
| 30. |
Rizoh Says:
^^Speak on it, bruh. I’ve never seen an Ostrich take off before. Them shits barely flutter.
|
| 31. |
On Top Says:
it wasnt that bad. yeah wayne ruined it.
|
| 32. |
DT Says:
It sounds like they recorded their vocals without ever hearing the beat. The flow is so hit and miss it’s ridiculous. I’ll be straight honest, I thought Juelz was going to kill it after he opened up with that
I feel like a black republican
Nah I can’t call it
More like a black democrat
Runnin’ ‘em out of office
Young Barack Obama
Chea! I’m all for it…
That was nice to me, but I’m pulling for Obama so that might be my bias talking.
Either way, this shit is bad. I’m not even gonna speak on Wayne (How many times are these rappers going to use Eagles/Donovan McNabb punches?). And why is Weezy biting Jim Jones corny adlibs like crazy on this (AHA YA DIG? SMELL ME?! YA DIG!). Fallllllllin’!
|
| 33. |
Illmatic620 Says:
Yeah that “Fly” line really threw me off, im like “wait does he know what hes saying”
Lil Wayne’s voice bothers me, I suppose hes good for a mainstream southern arists, but whatever. I’ll stay banging AZ and Cormega and ignore this shit
