With the exception of Em, Missy, Busta, and Kanye, no other mainstream hip-hopper puts it down in the video department like Funk Doctor Spock. The Naked Cowboy cameo at the end was unnecessary though.

I thought the little intro beat was the actual song. I was dissapointed, since it’s better than the song that follows.

You probably know this: the intro song is “Gimme One,” produced by Pete Rock. http://therapup.blogspot.com/2007/03/redman-gimme-one-prod-by-pete-rock.html
Is Redman still considered mainstream at this point in the game? I wonder if he’ll even make it onto BET Rap City with this video and if he does, I think that’ll mostly be because of the clout of still being signed to Def Jam, not because there’s any kind of real excitement for his album outside of a very small core of remaining fans.
Between this and Doc’s Da Name, he had that Blackout album with Meth, that song with Christina which was big, a sitcom, and a few movies, so he didn’t really disappear like a lot of other people who were big in ‘99.
I only heard the new album twice, but it sounds like its got the same problem Meth’s last album had — there aren’t really any songs you could call wack, but there aren’t that many that stand out of their own either. It seems consistent but without any real highpoints. Hopefully it’ll get better after a few listens…
BTW: before ppl think I’m a hater, I’m a Reggie Noble fan all day and I think the video is actually really good. Too bad there’s been virtually no mktg on this album. If bloggers weren’t talking about it, I think this project would be pretty much invisible.
Funny video. Nice jam. But there are new and shinier things happening. I hope it’s good and he gets some mainstream coverage but I don’t see it happening. I just hope this outsells Buck the World.
There’s NO WAY Redman’s album is outselling Buck the World. That’s just (REALLY) wishful thinking if you believe there’s even a remote chance of that happening.
