Jay-Z - Blue Magic

Alas, Hov’s new single from American Gangster (NO DJ). This is one of those songs that’ll take repeated spins to absorb. Simply put, this is street-hop.

Heard it…… Yawn….

2. Chris Says:

I’m kinda feeling it. It’s definitely better than Show Me What You Got/Change Clothes/Bonnie & Clyde. It’s not Hollywood/CEO Hov.

Yo man, I just saw you site and great minds think alike. I also did a “Jay-Z” and “blue” search in Google and got the same results back. Nice!

It’s a little slow, but I think it’ll make a lot more sense once we see the movie. I’m just glad to hear Jay in any capacity. He’s telling a cool ass story, forget that club shit.

5. david Says:

I’m with Chris, I like it. Not the best ever, but it’s strong stuff.

6. Keisha Says:

That’s a nice car in the back.

7. esbee Says:

I guess its just the lyricist in me, his inner rhyme schemes on verse 1 - WOW…

he’s just rapping on the beat and sounding like himself..

8. Ivan Says:

“It’s not Hollywood/CEO Hov.”

How is it not? ‘Show Me What You Got’ was Jay’s boycott Cristal, buy Budweiser song. This one will inevitably feature a GMC SUV-fest…lol.

It’s the same ol’ “Hollywood/CEO Hov” if you ask me.

9. esbee Says:

Eh Ivan please listen again…this “blue magic” song is pretty street content-wise..

10. Belize Says:

*nods head in agreement*

Yup. What i expected from kingdom come or the lost corporate takeover mixtape

*passes eLE to Riz*

U gonna need this with this track

11. joe Says:

“This one will inevitably feature a GMC SUV-fest”
______________

No way GMC or any other company is going to piggy-back on this song. The content is too crazy… Did you even LISTEN to the song??? Are you hearing what he’s talking about? This is the content that makes companies NOT want to do business with artists.

“I blame Regan for makin me into a Monster / I blame Oliver North & the Iran Contra / I ran Contraband that they sponsered”

You tellin me that’s gonna be in a GMC commercial? Get a grip.

But I guarantee you this will be in the clubs soon.

13. D-Bo Says:

this is flames! props rizoh

14. damn twon Says:

i LIKE IT, NAW I LOVE IT. I THINK THIS MIGHT BE JAYS WORSE SELLING ALBUM THOUGH SINCE REASONABLE DOUBT, BUT I THINK ITS GONE BE LABELED AS A CLASSIC. FROM THIS SONG SOUND LIKE SOME CLIPSE TYPE SHIT. FIRE

15. AntHill Says:

Im all for this Jigga concept album. This shit is nice, u get it if u uderstand the Frank Lucas story. Jay Z is speaking like he’s him.

16. Universal Says:

I heard it today for the first time but it hada different beat! A smoother joint where can i download either of them at? Im feeling this joint

17. Ali Says:

“I blame Regan for makin me into a Monster / I blame Oliver North & the Iran Contra / I ran Contraband that they sponsored”

You tellin me that’s gonna be in a GMC commercial? Get a grip.

co-sign what Bundy said, the only “Hollywood/CEO” thing going on here is the release of the album in part with the movie, which is just genius, but I think the content is going to be all street. No corporation is going to come within 100 yards of this album.

I think this song will make much more sense once we see the movie and understand what Blue Magic means in the actual story. It’s growing on me … but I don’t see it in the clubs, street radio yes, club no.

18. Rizoh Says:

This shit sounds better each time. Like I said, repeated spins. He’s back.

19. Nahshon Says:

This has a resonable doubt feel to it. Simply put, Classic!

29. Sam Says:

This is straight fire. I’ve just listened to it three times, one after the other, and it’s that raw gangster shit. i wish i had heard it on funk flex the first time he played it, this is crack, no pun intended. you can’t be a true rap head and not bounce your head to this shit

I’m getting it, straight getting it/I ain’t talking about it, i’m living it

30. blue Says:

jay is nice but he is a biz man first i love his stlye but rakim nas and big are better

33. Dutch D Says:

everybody need 2 get off jay-z’s dick. this song crushes all that “kingdom come” ish, but that ish was lukewarm at best. dont compare 2 no pac shit either, pick up “me against tha world”, u hip hop rookies. sellin crack does not equal content unless yung joc is your favorite mc

34. L.james Says:

I SOund Like hov switch his flow up to da 80 “s flow so it will be fair for l.l or showing l.l dat that style is easly done. can’t wait for the remix with nas!
