If Jay plays along then this could be the second resurrection of LL, because just like it was stated before, his last album wasn’t any good.

Somehow I doubt Jay would play into LL’s hands though it seems to be a good look since LL is respected as a legend. They also have history dating back to Jay’s earlier days on the come up before RD. Lotsa skeletons could come out..but we’ll see…LL seems to be where Bis was years ago…ironic a bit isn’t it?

I have 2 respectfully disagree with my mellow. Like my dude who used 2 run the ESCOBARTHEORY blog noted …
“* You been on my dick, nigga, you love my style …
* With Hawaiian Sophie fame, kept my name in his music …
* You a fan, a phony, a fake, a pussy, a Stan …
* Wanted to be on every last one of my classics …”
* From sampling Nas on Dead Presidents …
* From sampling Nas on Rap Game-Crack Game …
* From referencing Nas on Sunshine …
* From referencing Nas on “Where I’m From” …
* From asking Nas to redo the hook on “Dead Presidents” …
* From asking Nas to appear in the video for “Dead Presidents” (where Jay apparently contacted E Money Bags to get at the Illmatic MC, ["callin' my crib and I ain't even give you my numbers"] …
The obsession had previously been a relatively guarded secret but … with Ether, Nas put it on blast for the whole world to see. Many people have said that the verse from Takeover was directed at Nas almost from the point of view of a fan. In this context, that evaluation makes perfect sense.”
woooord.

There’s only so long fake thugs can pretend
Nigga; you ain’t live it you witnessed it from your folks pad
You scribbled in your notepad and created your life

You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song
And you ain’t get a coin nigga you was gettin fucked and

Use your - BRAAAAAAAIN! You said you been in this ten
I’ve been in it five - smarten up Nas
Four albums in ten years nigga? I can divide
That’s one every let’s say two, two of them shits was due
One was - NAHHH, the other was “Illmatic”
That’s a one hot album every ten year average
And that’s so - LAAAAAAAME! Nigga switch up your flow
Your shit is garbage, but you try and kick knowledge?
(Get the fuck outta here) You niggaz gon’ learn to respect the king
Don’t be the next contestant on that Summer Jam screen
Because you know who (who) did you know what (what)
with you know who (yeah) but just keep that between me and you for now”
OR
the verse by Nas above. Lyrically, I feel Jay-Z killed it b/c he actually called out Nas for being wack during his last few albums and this battle actually brought Nas back to life and now he works for Jay. At the time of this record, Nas was no where to be found, he wasn’t even mentioned in the top 10. While on the other hand this had no effect on Jay, for him it was a win/win, he got press from the battle sold millions of ‘The Blueprint’, a classic, and is now making money off of Nas. I don’t think Jay ever sounded like Nas, how does Nas call out Jay for selling his soul for money when Nas made ‘oochie wally’ and those other commercial albums? If his dis wasn’t hypocritical, I don’t know what is. Yea, and who the hell did Nas influence? Jay has created more careers than any other rapper in the game. Honestly, IMO, Jay spit some honest shit on the record, while Nas just dissed Jay on what everyone keeps hating on and his looks, which isn’t really valid.

LL is actin’ like he’s someone Jay should be scared of. When have we heard a memorable LL joint? Longevity is one thing but he ain’t the Rolling Stones of this shit. No one even remembers his wack ass movies. Hov will ignore anything LL has to say which would really confirm LL’s irrelevance in the grand scheme of things and put a major hole in his liplicking ego.

JAY-Z=the real G.O.A.T.
|
| 24. |
Rizoh Says:
Ether > Takeover. It’s not even a question.
|
| 25. |
Ali Says:
Why is your name Hovito? I’ve debating this for a while and I’ve read both lyrics. IMO, what Jay says about Nas making up stories, falling off, having 1 classic album, selling out is more relevant that what Nas says about Jay biting lines, being a stan, looks and whatnot.
If Jay took Nas’ style than why isn’t Nas bigger than Jay? When Jordan surpassed Magic didn’t he say he was the best, why shouldn’t Jay? Hip-Hop is a competition, like Em said “a plaque and platinum status is wack if I’m not the baddest.” Nas samples Pac who dissed Jay, but Pac also dissed Nas, so how does that make any sense. Nas spits “You traded your soul for riches”, so what was ‘Ochie Wally’? Now, those riches are helping people. I’ll say ‘Ether’ was a hot song, but content wise not better than ‘Takeover’, Jay made better points. I don’t really see anything that Nas said as relevant b/c it’s the same shit people have been talking about Jay for years b/c they hate the man on top, someone please break it down.
Just look at it like this, who’s working for who now?
|
| 26. |
Hovito Says:

I never said Nas wasn’t on his level, I think Jay and Nas are the two best out. I like both rappers, but IMO Jay is better, he’s more consistent and his flow suits my style more so than Nas. And, I also felt like people didn’t really disect ‘Takeover’ and ‘Ether’. I still prefer ‘Takeover’ over ‘Ether’, I think Jay makes more valid points, that’s all.
You went from Hovito to Dynasty, so you still throwing the ROC sign in the air? Cool.

Jay referenced Nas falling off which was a fact, Nas referenced Jay biting and liking his style Jay admitted it by saying illmatic was dope and then he fell off so Nas had no argument there.

you guys are funny. jay z was a nobody until his style of rap took off in the mid to late 90’s.ll on the other hand came out over 20 yrs ago and ruled hip hop for years until he fell off after his first battle with moe dee. ll came back and destroyed moe dee with til da break of dawn. he did this by changing his style to match the times. this is something ll still does to this day. For jay z to even qualify to be nominated G.O.A.T. he has to prove he can rise to the top when his style isnt the current flavor in hip hop, in other words sell records, and rock crowds outside his era as ll did in the 90’s, and today. by the way only one mc has been able to consistantly sell records while not only keeping his chosen style through the years, despite having no air play at all due to his lyrics. this in my opinion makes Too Short the G.O.A.T.

The symbol on my arm is off limits to challengers
You hold the rusty swords I swing the Excalibur
How dare you step up in my dimension
Your little as* should be somewher cryin on detention
Watch your mouth better yet hold your tongue
I’ma do this sh*t for free this time this one’s for fun
Blow you to pieces, leave you covered in feces
with one thesis (”LL Cool J is hard”)
Every little boy wanna pick up the mic
and try to run with the big boys and live up to the real hype
But that’s like pickin up a ball, playin with Mike,
Swingin at Ken Griffey or challengin Roy to a fight
Snappin, you ameteur MC’s
Don’t you know I’m like the Dream Team tourin overseas
For rappers in my circle I’m a deadly disease
Ringmaster, bringin a tiger cub to his knees (uhh)
In the history of rap they’ve never seen such prominence
Your naive confidence gets crushed by my dominance (word up)
Now let’s get back to this mic on my arm
If it ever left my side it’d transform into a time bomb
You don’t wanna borrow that, you wanna idolize
And you don’t wanna make me mad nigga you wanna socalize
And I’m daring every MC in the game
to play yourself out position, and mention my name
I make a rhyme for every syllable in your name
Go platinum for every time your grimy as* was on the train
Watch your mouth don’t ever step out of line
LL Cool J nigga, greatest of all time
