Musically I wouldn’t argue Kanye…but I know for fact that I will be listening to The Cool for a longer period of time than I did Graduation. But that’s coming from someone that listened to The Graduate mixtape more than Graduation.

Kany’s album was not his best work(good LP but not great) so it can’t be album of the year. I would give lupe album of the year but Jay’s - AG still #1 to me. The cool is crazy i’m killing “Gold Watch” and “Gotta Eat” right now.

damn man…i was expecting to be impressed but Lupe went above my expectation man..there really isnt a flaw in this album…and the lyrics consistently impress. Even the doubters gotta respect this one. Whereas other albums like Common and Kanye were kinda short in length…this one is long and quality throughout…Album of the Year…no question…its not even close!!!

I personally prefer doing lists for the calendar year, even if we have to wait a little longer for them so that the December albums can sink in (especially since there are 3 December albums that deserve serious consideration this year).

I have to give album of the year (personally) to Talib Kweli. I know most of mainstream and the folks that put (most) of these awards shows together, will not nominate it. Ear Drum is one of the best CD’s ever made, and IMO Talib’s best yet.
