As I watch rap crews go into extinction, it’s always with some anxiety that I survey new music from old groups. We haven’t heard from Nappy Roots in a while, and I must say “Good Day” is a solid re-introduction to the Kentucky boys. This appears on their comeback album, The Humdinger, out June 17th.

I admit when they first came out I thought they were wack…at the time I was on an anti-southern rave anyway…needless to say they got swept under the rug after the first outing. I hope they can go hard on mixtapes and everything out..just to at least regain some buzz. |
