Termanology is one of the freshest MCs I’ve heard in years. We’ll get a chance to find out if he can hold down an entire album when Politics As Usual drops on September 30th.

Consider this post your Politics As Usual bundle package — artwork, tracklist, guest features, and production credits all in one. You’re welcome. (more…)

A List of Obama’s Radical Associates

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

[Props: IllRoots]

I wonder why that sourpuss Hannity is cherry-picking when discussing Obama’s radical alliances. There are zillions others besides Ludacris, some even more outrageously offensive than Luda. Maybe he needs a primer, so I’ll try to help.

Obama’s radical associates (aka rappers who may have said or done something that Hannity’s middle America find politically incorrect):

Jay-Z
Common
Amanda Diva
Ti$a
6th Sense
Kanye West
Snoop Dogg
Russell Simmons
Naas
Naledge
Talib Kweli
Joell Ortiz
Michelle Obama

Hey, you know Hannity is entitled to his own definition of “radical associations.” I’m sure DMX understands where he’s coming from.

Jay-Z Covers VIBE

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Yesterday, someone sent me an email with a silhouette version of VIBE’s 15th anniversary cover and the question: Who’s on VIBE’s 15th anniversary cover? I should’ve known from the jump. Jiggaman’s NY fitted is hard to miss.

I guess this means we should get ready for another Hovember onslaught.

People Under the Stairs - Fun DMC Cover/Tracklist

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

LA b-boys People Under the Stairs are set to release their 6th album, Fun DMC, slated for September 30th via Gold Dust Records. I hope you don’t need some schooling on the inspiration behind that title. I gather that Fun DMC was prepped and baked entirely in-house, on a custom recording console that Thes One helped design.

PUTS will hit the road soon to promote the album. Check out Fun DMC tracklist and tour schedule after the gap.

BATTLEGROUND EARTH: LUDACRIS vs. TOMMY LEE challenges hip hop superstar Chris Ludacris Bridges and rock god Tommy Lee to battle against the toxic forces destroying Mother Earth as they travel across the country on a 10-episode tour.
