The Rap Up x KOCH Foxy Brown Giveaway

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Foxy Brown’s claim to fame was her guest appearance on Jay-Z’s ‘96 smash single “Ain’t No N*gga.” During the studio session, Foxy was given food and drink. She then went into a room to write her portion of the collaboration.

I have 7 free copies of Foxy’s KOCH debut, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, (out May 13th) for 7 lucky TRUbians. All you have to do is complete the following sentence with the correct entry.

During that studio session, Jay gave Foxy a pizza pie and a big bottle of _____________

Mail your answers to therapup at gmail dot com. The first 7 correct entries win. Go!

UPDATE: We already have 5 winners, so the question can’t be that hard. But if you’re still unsure, here’s a dead giveaway: It starts with the letter “S”

(Fine print: Must be a US resident to be considered eligible for the giveaway)

Foxy Brown - Star Cry

I posted the half-baked version of this jawn back in December, but I’m sure most people missed it. It’s a mellow, self-reflective track from Brooklyn’s Don Diva, due May 13th.

Writing Foxy

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Last week, I called on hip-hop fans everywhere to write Foxy in jail. The vlogging geniuses at The Real took it one step further and created a video message to Inga. Hilarious.

Hey hip-hop fans, Inga wants to hear from you (excuse the pun). You know, it can get pretty lonely in jail. So, if you have too much time on your hands, jot down the following address:

Inga Marchand #3470701776
Rose M. Singer Women’s Facility
19-19 Hazen Street
East Elmhurst, NY 11370

Foxy Brown’s team has been doing a solid job of keeping her name alive, even when Foxy herself is bent on murdering whatever iota of pertinence she has left. Hip-hop fans are finicky. They’ll eventually get sick of an artist who’s constantly picking up charges when she could be dropping gems.

I’m still rooting for Inga, though. Can’t sit around and watch the last few talented femcees fade away from the game like an MJ jump shot.

Fox Boogie heard that no one was chanting “Free Foxy Brown,” so she decided to take the initiative herself:

Foxy Brown has announced the launch of her new website, www.FreeFoxyBrown.com dedicated to all things Foxy. Visit often for up-to-the minute Foxy updates, new tracks from her forthcoming new album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, and much more. Foxy is personally involved in the content contained on this website, accept no imitations! Fans can write to Foxy behind bars through the website.

Foxy states, “I devoted my career to building an affinity with my fans who have supported me unflinchingly and no barbed wire fence or prison wall will stop that. I am in great spirits and very focused, and needed a forum to communicate to the people.”

Foxy’s KOCH debut, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, will hit the streets on November 20th, 2007. Here’s a couple of Foxy tracks to hold you over till then:
