Ludacris - ‘Theater of the Mind’ Synopsis

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Ludacris’ 7th album, Theater of the Mind, won’t do it for you so let me remind you that he’s one of the illest MCs in the game. Nasty flow? Check. Ear-grabbing delivery? Check. Unique voice? Check. Memorable punchlines? Check, check, check. The chink in his armor has always been his inability to make an album devoid of fillers. That’s what separates the likes of Em, Jay, and Nas from Ludacris. Unlike those guys, ‘Cris can’t carry an album in its entirety. Theater of the Mind carries on that tradition, but not without a few pleasant surprises. (more…)

Shawnna Makes It Clap On Stage

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Shawnna’s dress barely hangs on as she performs alongside Ludacris at the Highline Ballroom in support of Theater of the Mind. Luda has that look on his face like, “Stop stealing my shine.” He shouldn’t complain though, because that right there is publicity you can’t buy.

Here’s Ludacris rocking the stage at his Theater Of The Mind album release party, which went down at the Velvet Room in Atlanta, GA. Anyone feeling this album?

DJ Premier: “Ludacris is in my Top 20″

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

DJ Premier produced a song called “MVP” on Luda’s 6th album, Theater of the Mind. This video captures Premo working his musical magic. He also takes time out to name some of the MCs in his Top 20 and Luda makes the list somehow.

Ludacris Plugs ‘Theater of the Mind’ at Cavs Game

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Ludacris stopped by the Cleveland Cavaliers game to promote his upcoming album, Theater of the Mind, out Monday, November 24th. Luda actually plugs the wrong date in the video.

On another note, the Cavs are looking legit this season. They still need one more key player to help LeBron if they want to make it back to the finals.

Chamillionaire - “Creepin’ (Solo)” (Feat. Ludacris)

Chamillionaire - “Creeping (Solo)” (Feat. Ludacris)
Check out Chamillionaire’s new street single from his upcoming Venom LP. I don’t think Luda’s presence was necessary on this. At some point, Cham will have to prove that he’s capable of holding down a single (or even an entire album) by himself if he wants to make that next step to the upper echelons of hip-hop greats.

Ludacris - “I Do It for Hip-Hop” Featuring Nas & Jay-Z

Monday, November 10th, 2008

One way to draw attention to your album is by convincing Nas and Jay-Z to spit a verse or two on your project, if possible on the same song. It’s a tactic that’s been proven to yield dividends, and everyone from Scarface to Eminem has relied on it at some point. Ludacris is the latest to collaborate with the 2 hip-hop giants on a new track appropriately dubbed “I Do It for Hip-Hop.” Listen as Luda previews the joint at a listening session in Chicago.

Theater of the Mind is scheduled to drop on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008.

Ludacris Interviews Ludacris

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Ludacris tries hard not to doze off while listening to Chris Bridges gloat about his role in Max Payne. Max Payne looks exciting, but I’m going to see W instead.
