Blogs Are the New Record Labels

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

In case you weren’t convinced by this (or this), here’s yet another optimistic take on the future of the blogosphere.

Music blogs are nearly as old as the Web, but the past year has brought unprecedented growth, influence, and dollars to the sector as people look for help discovering new music.

CNET claims that blogs will not only replace traditional DJs in the long run, they’ll eventually start signing artists to their own imprint. The article points to Stereogum and Pitchfork as examples of blogs that have successfully moved in this direction. So, if any of you rap singers out there need a record deal or something, I’m only one click away. Hope you don’t have a problem with me retaining 100% of the publishing rights.

BREAKING! Obama Plagiarized Bob the Builder

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

::Hey Obama, Bob the Builder wants his catchphrase back

Since the mainstream media has been focusing on the war of ‘words” between Clinton and Obama, I thought I’d take it upon myself to shine some light on a more important issue. In addition to Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King Jr, and John F. Kennedy, Obama has been known to plagiarize Bob the Builder and his buddies.

Bob the Builder: Can we fix it?
Bob’s Friends: Yes, We Can!!

Obama, I don’t care if you swaggerjack Dr. Seuss, but please leave Bob the Builder’s words alone.

Cops Arrest Netbangers

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

netbangers.jpg

A couple of netbangers were stupid enough to taunt the law on YouTube, saying “they can come at us if they want to.” Unfortunately for them, the one-wish genie was listening.

Rudy Villanueva and Tony Logan, alleged members of a Miami-Dade County street gang called the Bird Road Boys, were seen in the video brandishing a shotgun, assault rifle and handguns. Villanueva was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement late Tuesday evening, and Logan was arrested early Wednesday morning [ABC].

What dumbasses.

lupe-ew.jpg

I don’t see it anywhere on ew.com, but Lupe is featured in the current issue of Entertainment Weekly. Margeaux Watson asked him if he was picked on a lot as a kid, and he had this to say:

“When the gangbangers would try to pull it, I was like, ‘Yo, I will f**k you up. And if you wanna call your cousin, call him. I’ll call me! I’ll call me right now.’ We were shooting TEC-9s when we were babies, so the whole gangsta image, that ain’t nothing.”

Lu, you’re my dude and all but this one gets a big N*gga Please.
